Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these terms

These terms form an agreement between you and Skill Passport. By visiting skillpassport.io, creating an account, or using our platform and APIs, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. Who can use Skill Passport

You must be at least 16 years old and able to enter a binding agreement. If you use the platform on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these terms for that organisation.

3. Your account

You are responsible for the account you create and everything done through it.

• Give accurate details when you register and keep them up to date.
• Keep your login credentials and one time codes confidential.
• Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
• Do not share, sell or transfer your account to anyone else.

4. Your content and credentials

You keep ownership of the profile information, documents and credentials you add. You grant us a limited licence to host, process and display that content so we can run the service, verify credentials, and share your profile with the recruiters and partners you choose.

You confirm that everything you submit is true and that you have the right to submit it. Uploading forged, altered or borrowed credentials is a serious breach of these terms.

5. Verification

Verification depends on confirmations from employers, institutions, training partners and assessment providers. We take reasonable care in running these checks, but we do not guarantee that every record is complete, current or free of error. A verified status reflects the confirmation we received, not an endorsement of a person or organisation.

6. Acceptable use

When using Skill Passport, you agree not to do the following.

• Misrepresent your identity, skills, qualifications or employment history.
• Post unlawful, misleading, discriminatory, abusive or infringing content.
• Scrape, crawl or bulk extract data from the platform without written permission.
• Attempt to break, probe or bypass our security, rate limits or access controls.
• Use the platform to send spam or to collect personal data for unrelated purposes.
• Publish job listings, courses or opportunities that are false, paid to apply, or fraudulent.

7. Employers, partners and API users

Organisations using our hiring tools or developer APIs must use candidate data only for the purpose for which it was shared, keep it secure, follow applicable employment and data protection law, and stop using it when the purpose ends. API keys are issued to you alone and must not be shared. We may apply rate limits and may suspend keys that are misused.

8. Fees

Some features are free and others are paid. Where fees apply, the price, billing cycle and taxes will be shown before you commit. Unless stated otherwise, fees are non refundable once the billing period has started. We may change pricing with advance notice for future periods.

9. Intellectual property

The Skill Passport platform, brand, logos, software, design and documentation belong to us or our licensors. Nothing in these terms transfers those rights to you. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer or create derivative works from the platform except where the law expressly allows it.

10. Third party services

The platform may link to or work with third party services, such as assessment providers, messaging services and job boards. We are not responsible for their content, availability or practices, and your use of them is governed by their own terms.

11. Availability and changes

We work to keep the platform available and reliable, but we may need to change, suspend or discontinue features, and downtime can happen for maintenance or reasons outside our control. We provide the service on an as available basis without warranties beyond those required by law.

12. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Skill Passport is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for lost profits, lost opportunities or lost data arising from your use of the platform. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

13. Suspension and termination

You can stop using the platform and close your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if you breach these terms, if we are required to do so by law, or if your activity puts other users or the platform at risk. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, without affecting rights you may have under local consumer law.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be on this page with its effective date. If a change is material, we will notify registered users. Continuing to use the platform after a change means you accept the updated terms.
